Google wants you to stop using Google Hangouts

Users who like to use the Google Hangouts messaging service will be able to use the service less and less in the foreseeable future. Functionality will be disabled and users will be pushed to switch to Google Chat.

Google and messaging services, it doesn’t really want to run smoothly. Hangouts must now clear the field and Google is committed to using Google Chat. Now it seems that Google Hangouts users will gradually have to let go of their messaging app. As of August 16 this year, several features will no longer work. Google Chat has been available to everyone for some time, so you can use Google Chat in the Gmail app.

Those who are now opening Google Hangouts are now being urged to switch to Google Chat. It is possible to close this screen and continue using Hangouts, if you choose to use Chat from now on you will be logged out of Hangouts. Conversations you have in Hangouts are migrated to Google Chat.
