Google Solves One of the Pixel 6 (Pro) Most Annoying Problems
Actually, Google only wanted to solve a really annoying problem of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro with an update in December. The US company didn’t want to wait that long and has already released the new software.
Google Pixel 6: fingerprint sensor software updates
Google has undoubtedly done itself a disservice by creating one optical fingerprint sensor to be installed in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. These type of fingerprint sensors are notorious for not being really reliable. That is why they are actually used in cheaper smartphones. More expensive models rely on versions with ultrasonic technology, which are faster and safer. In the test of the Pixel 6 Pro, I criticized exactly that. Now there is a solution for that.
According to XDA A small software update is now being distributed that only takes care of the fingerprint sensor of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. This is primarily intended to optimize performance. Google does not write more about it. This should mean that this works faster. Currently, in certain situations it can take a second or two for the fingerprint to be recognized. With frequent use, this is of course really annoying.
The update has not yet arrived on my Pixel 6 Pro. That’s why I can’t say whether Google has really made an improvement here. But I assume that the software update will, as always, be rolled out in waves and will reach me in the coming days. Actually it was only A bug fix expected with the December update been. However, the early reaction from Google shows that a solution had to be found quickly.
in the Video we show you the unique functions of the Pixel 6 (Pro):
Google Pixel 6 Pro is now available again
After the introduction, the Pixel 6 Pro was sold out for a short time. You could only be put on the waiting list. This has led to absurdly high prices on eBay. You can now buy the Pro model on Google again – albeit not in all colors.
