Google rolls out more Material You for Phone app

Material You is the name of the design that we see in Android 12. This interface style is now also implemented in the Google Phone app, where the dialer has been given a new look.

In September last year, Google started rolling out the Material You style to the dialer, the Google Phone app for Android. Apparently Google has found a place in this application where some improvements could be made. These refer to the keys for entering a phone number.

The style of this is reminiscent of the calculator app from Android 12, and the screen lock from that Android version also looks like this. The keys are each oval-shaped and appear slightly larger than before. The change is being rolled out via a server-side update, which means you don’t need to visit the Play Store for this.
