“Google Pixel tablet will be announced very soon”

It really looks like the Google Pixel tablet will be announced in a month or so. The tablet has arrived for approval at the American inspection body FCC.

Certifications

A smartphone, tablet or other tech device must always be approved by various authorities that issue a certain certificate before it hits the shelves. One of the best known of these is the FCC certification. If a device has such certification – something that is mandatory for all technological devices before they can be sold in the United States – it means, among other things, that it has been tested for the limits of ionizing radiation.

When a tablet or smartphone appears in the FCC’s database, it is almost always officially announced in the following weeks. Now that the Pixel Tablet has appeared in this, the earlier rumors of a May release seem to be true. It was previously thought that Google will announce the Pixel tablet at Google I/O 2023. This is the developer conference held by Google every year around or in May.

Specifications

Now we cannot deduce from the certification what specifications the Pixel Tablet will have. There are, however, different ones famous rumor mongers already posted several images and rumors of and about the tablet. According to them, the Pixel tablet would include a speaker dock and the tablet will have a special ‘Hub mode’. You can read more about this in this article.

The tablet will also probably have the first generation Google Tensor chip and two 8 MP cameras. One on the front and one on the back of the device.

Announced at Google I/O 2023

We expect the Google Pixel tablet to officially see the light of day on May 3 at Google I/O. Google will probably announce the tablet together with the Google Pixel 7a and Android 14. It is not yet known whether the tablet will also come to the Netherlands and/or Belgium.
