“Google Pixel 7 Ultra with 1-inch camera sensor on the way”
Smartphones are getting better and better at taking pictures. Several smartphones are already equipped with a 1-inch camera sensor, and Google would also like to place it in a new Pixel device; the Pixel 7 Ultra. The first reports about this have now surfaced. What can we expect?
Pixel 7 Ultra on the go
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were announced this month. Our Pixel 7 Pro preview recently appeared and you will soon find our extensive review on DroidApp. However, the Pixel 7 family seems to be expanding, with a new model. According to the rumors that are now circulating, Google is working on a Pixel 7 Ultra. This one will be different from the other two Pixel models. Google would like to provide the device with a large 1-inch camera sensor.
Pixel 7 Pro
The 1-inch camera sensor brings several useful additions for taking pictures. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Sony Xperia Pro-I already offer such a sensor. These sensors capture much more light, so this should clearly benefit the photo quality. The Pixel devices already have a good reputation in the field of photos. The information about this comes from Ice Universe, a source that shares information more often. However, it does not seem to be completely certain that a 1.0 inch sensor will indeed be used, so other sources talk about a 200 megapixel camera, or a camera with only 13 megapixels. It is quite possible that Google is still looking internally at what the best composition will be.
It certainly seems that a third model in the Pixel 7 series is coming, in the form of an Ultra. In the source code of the Pixel 7 series is leaker Wojciechowski came across the codename Lynx. This is striking, given that the Pixel 7 went on to be codenamed Cheetah, and the Pro model was codenamed Panther. The Pixel 7 Ultra will have a Full HD display, according to the same source. It is unknown when we can expect the device.
