Google Pixel 7 (Pro): camera glass can spontaneously crack
Several Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users are reporting an annoying bug in Google’s new smartphones. The camera glass has started to crack spontaneously with several users.
Camera glass cracks on Pixel 7
We received the Google Pixel 7 Pro quite warmly in our Pixel 7 Pro review. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are the first Pixel devices to be officially released in the Netherlands. However, not everything goes smoothly, according to messages from various users.
The glass of the camera module spontaneously cracked for several owners of the Google Pixel 7 and the Google Pixel 7 Pro. Those to whom this has happened say that they have not done anything special with the device. It has not been dropped or bumped into anything. For some, it happened while the device was in the case.
The reason for the camera glass cracking is not known. There can be several reasons, such as the voltage, temperature differences or something else. Google itself keeps tight lips and does not respond about the broken camera glass. It is not the first time that Pixel devices have problems. Earlier models also regularly had software and hardware problems. For example, the Pixel 6 with overheating, bugs, and network issues.
