Google Pixel 5a: first leaked images show recognizable design
We get to see the first images of the Google Pixel 5a. The device has many similarities with the current Pixel 4a 5G, but at the moment many details about the device are still missing.
Pixel 5a
As we are used to from Google, the company will launch its new top device every autumn, while we can look forward to the affordable Pixel-a series by the summer. Last year, Google scrapped the larger XL variant for the first time and introduced the more powerful Pixel 4a 5G. It seems the company is sticking to that strategy.
The first renders of the Google Pixel 5a have been leaked by the reliable OnLeaks, and they immediately ring a solid bell with us. The phone looks like two drops of water on Google’s Pixel 4a 5G. The device also measures 156.2 x 73.2 x 8.8mm. That’s nearly identical to the 153.9 x 74 x 8.2mm that the 4a 5G measures. So it seems that the Pixel 5a is getting a narrower shape and aspect ratio and Google may also put a slightly larger battery into the device.
Specifications unknown
For the time being, we cannot say with certainty about the specifications of the Pixel 5a, because no further information about the device has been leaked yet. We still recognize the dual camera on the back together with the fingerprint scanner on the back. On the left is the camera notch again and there is still a headphone jack on the top.
The Pixel a series is of interest to smartphone users who prefer not to pay full price for the Pixel 5, but still want the same software experience. Google opted for a slightly less powerful chipset in its Pixel 5 this year, but the price remained relatively high.
