Google Photos gets new cleaning options such as deleting blurry photos
There may be a lot of photos on your phone. Not all of them will be equally beautiful or sharp. The Google Photos app will allow you to automatically remove blurry photos soon. But more clean-up tools are becoming available.
Google Photos: Remove blurry photos
Google Photos gets a handy tool that makes it possible to delete moved or blurry photos from your phone and from your Google account in a much faster way. In addition, there will be more clean-up options. For example, it must also be possible to immediately delete photos taken by another app.
The same goes for screenshots or videos that take up a lot of storage space. When the relevant option is selected, the Google Photos app will indicate the photos and videos that fall under this heading. You can then manually delete them or automatically delete them all. During selection, it is also shown how much space it can save.
The feature comes in handy as starting June 1, Google will no longer offer unlimited free storage space. Until now, this option was offered when photos and videos were saved in high quality (instead of original quality). For this reason, Google will replace the name “High Quality Storage” with “Storage Saver” indicating that it requires less storage space.
The update with the new functionality will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
