Google Wallet available

The Google Wallet app can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store. The application will replace Google Pay, Google announced during Google I/O. The Wallet is a collection point for your debit cards, credit cards, loyalty cards and more. The features have not changed compared to Google Pay, but this could certainly change in the future. The Google Wallet app makes the Google Pay app obsolete.

During Google I/O, Google announced that the app can also be used to store other types of files. This concerns, for example, your public transport card, airline tickets, tickets for concerts and, for example, your driver’s license, vaccination certificate or identity card. Unfortunately for us, for example, the OV-Chipkaart is not supported. In addition, we do not yet see the other options mentioned. The Google Wallet app does offer to show cards based on emails in Gmail. So you could think of your boarding pass for the plane or a ticket for your concert. So-called pkpass files are not supported by Google Wallet.

You can download the new Google Wallet app for free from the Google Play Store via the button below. The Google Pay app still works for now, but will be disabled in the future.
