Google Pay gets clearer shortcuts menu

The new Google Pay app hasn’t gone down well with everyone. Some people find the new look unclear and don’t easily get where they want to go in the app. That is why Google comes with a tool, namely a clear shortcut menu.

Shortcuts

The menu can be found in the main tab of the app. You can’t choose which shortcuts there are: there are four default shortcuts. The first goes to your contactless payment settings, allowing you to quickly switch cards.

The second directs you to the page where you can send money or request a payment. The third goes to the place to view offers and the last shortcut quickly brings you to the page where you can see what transactions you have had through Google Pay.

Google Pay

Google Pay is also available in the Netherlands and Belgium. With this app you can pay contactless with pre-set debit cards. It is also possible to pay for online purchases with Google Pay. ABN Amro has also recently started supporting the app. Moreover, it is rumored that you will soon be able to pay with bitcoin in it as well.

If your bank supports it, you can add a card to Google Pay by going to their bank’s app and selecting the ‘Add to Google Pay’ option. Go through the registration process and you can immediately pay contactless in stores.

Contactless payment

You do this with contactless payment, i.e. via the NFC chip of your smartphone. Note: Not all smartphones have NFC support. Once a card is saved, they can manage it through their smartphone settings (Google > Account Services > Google Pay).
