Google News will soon replace MMS with RCS
Google News is a great platform for sending regular SMS, but in recent years it has expanded and offers more and more interesting features. For example, in recent years, we have been able to send RCS, ie messages over the Internet. Instead of using a paid SMS, send your message via data. Google is now preparing a similar feature, but for MMS. The report was brought by the 9to5Google portal.
Google News will soon be transmitting videos via Google Photos
9to5Google looked at the Google News code in beta 10.4 and enabled the Google Photos option. This will display an option in the app settings that will allow you to stream videos in clearer and better quality. From this short description, it is clear that this will be a feature that will replace MMS messages with Google Photos.
When you send such a video, it is uploaded to the server and then a link to the file is sent to the recipient of the message. It is a better solution and more convenient than sending video via MMS. Such a file may be previewable directly in Google News, but it’s just guesswork. Of course, the 9to5Google portal has not yet tried this feature, as it is not fully integrated into the application.
As the use of RCS technology increases, it is pleasant to see its extension to other communication formats. In addition, MMS compresses too much, thus reducing the quality of the video, which is something that the RCS format precedes by using Google Photos.
