Google is posting changes to Play Store updates

In addition to regular monthly updates for Pixel smartphones from Google, the company also takes care of Play Store updates for all devices. Android Police has published all information regarding the mentioned updates.

What changes will the updates from Google bring?

The goal of the new updates is to add new conveniences to the major parts of the operating system. These include modifying location systems or synchronizing data and contacts. Adding features is part of the Mainline project, which was announced with the advent of Android 10. This project allows Google to update some components without releasing a new operating system build.

Many Google Pixel smartphone users have no idea that they receive regular updates and system reports to the Play Store automatically in the background. System updates for Google Play are available for all Android certified devices. They are available, for example, for tablets, Wear OS watches, smartphones and even Android Auto.

A list of changes for each device is published on Google Support. Although these updates have been in operation for several years, the list of changes has only been published since December 2021. The December update brought adjustments regarding battery, stability, security, internet connection usage and more. The latest January update includes improvements to the time zone and daylight saving time system.

You can check for updates by going to the icon Settings – Security – Play Store – system updates. As already mentioned, these updates are usually installed automatically. The only step to their functionality is to restart the device.
