Google is looking for your pet’s doppelganger
The search giant Google has found something fun again and has therefore developed an app with which you can celebrate your pet’s doppelganger. into art!
Earlier, this was in 2018, Google introduced the Arts & Culture app. With this you can find your doppelganger in works of art with a function. Nice yes. More than 120 million selfies have been sought so far. So a success and Google knows it. That’s why you can do the same from now on, only with your pets. Why not, right?
Google and your pet’s doppelganger
Many people have adopted a pet during the corona pandemic. To break the silence a bit apparently. Google responds well to this. Here too, the company uses a machine learning algorithm. This Pet Portraits compares a photo of your furry, snippy, or feathered friend to tens of thousands of works from Google’s partner institutions. The app can determine that the best match for your pet is a piece of street art from Mexico or an image of a fish in ancient Egypt.
You can share your pet portraits as still images. Or choose a few to turn it into a GIF slideshow. To get started, tap the rainbow camera button at the bottom of the Google Arts & Culture app screen, which you can download on iOS or Android.
Function
Unfortunately, the feature has not yet been tested, it is still being rolled out and is not immediately available to everyone. So we have to make do with the images sent by Google. There you will see the function in action a few times. What is striking is that the algorithm is not always able to find the perfect match. See the image below.
