Google writes: “We are optimizing the Google Drive app for tablet screens through several modernizations, including moving the navigation bar to the side, optimizing visuals to take advantage of the larger screen, and making it easier to view file details for a selected file. to look at.” Google has created an image where you can clearly see the difference between old and new.

Indeed, the navigation bar you are used to seeing at the bottom of the screen, which moves to a navigation rail on the side. In addition, the standard tabs such as ‘My Drive’, ‘Shared with me’, ‘Recent’ and ‘Starred’ are now provided with a plus to immediately create new files or folders. You can also make the drawer with options larger and smaller. The tabs for the ‘file suggestions’ and the notifications now take up less space. That space that is left is used to display even more files and folders for a better overview.
