Google Chrome comes with many improvements and new features for tablets
Google seems to be paying more and more attention to tablets. We saw this before with the release of Android 12L, now there is news about Google Chrome. In an announcement, Google presents a lot of improvements for the browser on tablets.
Improvements for Chrome on tablets
Google has shared the news that numerous improvements are rolling out to Chrome for tablets. Lately, tablets have been getting more and more serious attention from Google, and this move is part of it. Tablet users can now switch tabs more easily in Google Chrome. All you need to do is swipe horizontally across the address bar, then go to the left or right tab.
Accidentally closing an open tab should also be a thing of the past, Google promises. When you have many tabs open, the tabs in the bar become smaller. When you tap one now, you may soon press the cross. When many tabs are open, the cross is hidden in Chrome, so that you are less likely to accidentally close a tab. If one is closed, you can immediately undo the closing of a tab with a new button, after which it will be opened again. We already know this function, for example, from Chrome on the smartphone.
Google Chrome gets even more improvements related to tabs. For example, there will be a new visual representation of tabs, where you will see them in a grid, along with a preview of the tab. Google also states that it should be easier to request the desktop version of a web page. Another improvement is dragging items on a web page to another app when open in split-screen mode. This concerns, for example, photos, links or text.
The rollout of the new features and improvements that has been announced has already started, Google reports. However, it can usually always take a while before every user can actually use it.
