Charging stations for e-cars are not to be found everywhere. In order to still be able to supply the vehicle with enough electricity, a German start-up has now presented its own solution. With the “Mobility Dock”, the charging process at home and on the move should be made much more convenient.

Simply charge the electric car: German start-up shows the solution

While electric cars have never been as popular as they are today and the infrastructure around e-cars is growing rapidly, there is still a lot of catching up to do when it comes to charging the battery. The Stuttgart start-up Lapp Mobility recognized this and has now presented its own solution. With the “Mobility Dock” it should be easier to charge the e-car at home and sometimes on the go.

The dock is a charger with comparatively small dimensions that connects to a normal socket can be operated. According to the manufacturer, an output of up to 2.3 kW is achieved (source: Lapp Mobility).

Hiring and monitoring An integrated control device takes over the charging process via the dock. If an increased temperature is detected, the charging power automatically reduces so that it does not overheat. The device also detects errors in direct current and alternating current.

“Mobility Dock” for e-cars weighs 730 grams

The “Mobility Dock” has a weight of 730 grams with dimensions of 25.5 x 13.5 x 10.5 cm and should be in smaller trunks don’t take up too much space. The start-up has not yet commented on a price. The dock is scheduled to go on sale in March 2022. The company already offers its own wallbox with state funding.
