German customers can’t get enough of this electric car

The success of Toyota’s first e-car apparently even surprised the carmaker itself. The interest in the bZ4X in Germany exceeds the Japanese’s planning. Now Toyota wants to shake more vehicles out of the sleeve.

E-car from Toyota: bZ4X surprises with high demand

Did Toyota have the right instincts in the end? It’s not yet possible to say, but at least the late start with a purely electric car doesn’t seem to have done any harm. In Germany that is E-SUV bZ4X apparently a success right from the start.

“We already have 1,500 online reservations”, explained Mario Köhler, Head of Sales Toyota Germany, at a press event (source: Automobilwoche via Ecomento). In comparison to the quantities that are otherwise produced by the currently largest car manufacturer in the world, not a big deal. But online ordering has only been possible since February, the first models should be delivered in the summer – and interest does not seem to be abating.

A contingent of 3,000 bZ4x should be planned for the second half of the year. Now talks would be held that increase number for Germany, even before the first e-cars are with their new owners. In Europe, Germany, along with Norway and Holland, is a priority for Toyota, according to Germany boss André Schmidt.

As the largest carmaker in the world Does Toyota have a good reputation? which should continue to have an impact on customers despite the late entry into the electric car market. The long warranty promise that the Japanese wanted to give on their batteries, but have now somewhat restricted, will also be well received.

Does Toyota benefit from delivery problems at VW and Co?

And a third reason should play Toyota into the cards, which actually has nothing to do with their own electric car. While some German manufacturers can hardly keep up with the demand and suffer from delivery problems for vehicle components Toyota has never known of such problems. The chances are therefore good for German customers that the bZ4X can be received quickly. Then you could even get the full environmental bonus.

For the future, Toyota has already announced 30 new electric models across its brands. Although the bZ4X isn’t exactly a bargain for at least 47,490 euros, the main focus is on affordability.
