Major update for GarageBand now available

Apple’s music app GarageBand gets a major update, which provides a lot of new possibilities. Apple gives budding producers the opportunity to make better quality music and learn from industry professionals.

GarageBand users can now fine-tune their remixing skills under the guidance of pop artists Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga. During so-called Remix sessions, aspiring producers can practice with isolated vocals and beat and instrument tracks from the songs ‘Break My Heart’ and ‘Free Woman’.

The sessions also include helpful, supportive videos. Here the artists explain how they work. The new Remix sessions are an extension of existing educational sessions, which Apple has long offered through the Today at Apple program.

Better production with new sound packs

The new version of GarageBand offers seven new sound packs in addition to the remix sessions. These include royalty-free loops, beats, instruments, drum kits, synth patches, and samples. Well-known producers such as Boys Noize, Mark Lettieri, Oak Felder, Soulection, Take A Daytrip, Tom Misch and TRAKGIRL have developed the sounds.

The new Remix sessions and sound packs are now available in the GarageBand sound library. You do not need to update the app itself. Don’t have the GarageBand yet? The app is free to download for both iPhone and iPad from the App Store.
