Galaxy S23 still at a disadvantage

Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy S23 smartphones in a few months. Many details have already leaked out, which can be rated more or less positively. A new detail reveals a crucial weakness that will not be fixed in the coming year either.

Samsung Galaxy S23 keeps charging very slowly

While Chinese smartphone manufacturers are constantly achieving new superlatives when it comes to fast charging, Samsung is staying where it has been for years. This will not change with the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus either. Both smartphones should probably can still be charged with 25 watts:

If you charge your smartphone overnight, that’s no problem. Relatively slow charging protects the battery and charging works overnight without any problems. But if you need energy in between or want to use your cell phone while charging, then 25 watts are simply not enough these days.

To make matters worse, the batteries in the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are slightly larger, but the charging speed does not increase. So the complete loading process will also take longer. Nothing should change with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. There it will probably stay with the 5,000 mAh and the 45-watt quick charge function. For all models you will need to buy a power supply if you don’t have one. Samsung doesn’t include that anymore.

Samsung Galaxy S23 rather a small upgrade

Many details about the Galaxy S23 smartphones have been leaked in recent weeks. Samsung fans shouldn’t expect big changes with the new smartphones. The design should remain almost unchanged, there should be minimal changes to the camera and a slightly larger battery. The built-in processor is still a real gamble, because it was actually expected that Samsung would do without the Exynos chip, but it’s suddenly back in the game. We will find out whether the information is correct by February 2023 at the latest.
