Sharing your WiFi password will probably be made a lot easier in future Android versions. A new version of Nearby Share allows you to easily share your WiFi password.

When others ask for your password, you may just have to dive into the meter cupboard to find the password on the modem. Giving everyone your password can also reduce your control over the devices connected to your network. In the technical code of the development of Android, a hint has been found for a new function in Android 12. The new Android version must receive a handy addition in Nearby Share.
You could already use a QR code to share WiFi passwords. But then the recipient must know how to scan the code. Nearby Share makes it possible to share your WiFi password with others via Google’s Apple AirDrop counterpart. Without anyone having to scan for anything or the like, the WiFi data can be easily shared via Nearby Share.
