Fossil Gen 6 teaser: “Way more, way faster”

Fossil has been teasing its next generation of smartwatches just before Samsung is going to announce its Galaxy Watch 4 series. The manufacturer seems to be focusing on more options and more speed for its new smartwatches.

Fossil Gen 6 teaser

Fossil has previously mentioned the Gen 6 name in tandem with “pretty major hardware upgrades,” including a new chipset and support for the new Wear OS 3 platform. The watch manufacturer is now teasing this Gen 6 on its website with the image above.

So we assume that the Gen 6 watches will run on the new Wear OS 3. This platform comes with new functions, becomes more user-friendly, a (much-needed) longer battery life and integration with Google’s Fitbit. However, it is not clear whether Fossil will use this platform from launch or whether the watches will not be updated until 2022.

It also appears that Fossil is planning to deploy Qualcomm’s Wear 4100 chipset, as it will focus on speed on the new smartwatches.

Get ready, our newest smartwatch is coming and will be better than ever. The latest technology wrapped in the most current and timeless styles make our Gen 6 smart watches a must-have for the season and beyond. You’ve already fallen for our Gen 5 and now it’s time to get to know the newest member of the Fossil smartwatch family.

Tomorrow we will see the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Classic version that run on Samsung’s new One UI Watch interface, which is based on Google’s Wear OS 3. You can view the teasers of that here. Hopefully Fossil will announce its Gen 6 variant with Wear OS 3 soon as well.
