Folding novelty with compact dimensions

In addition to the Huawei P50 Pro smartphone, the Chinese giant also pleasantly surprised us with the introduction of a folding smartphone. We are talking about the Huawei P50 Pocket, which is coming to our market.

The Huawei P50 Pocket has a familiar design

At the outset, we need to highlight the design of the Huawei P50 Pocket. It’s definitely not for everyone, but we believe that it will be liked in the end. The folding mechanism is very strikingly reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. The folding screen does not compromise on quality. It is a 6.9-inch Full HD + OLED Panel with a very wide 21: 9 aspect ratio.

Displaying kinematic media will be a joy for the eyes. The pixel density is 442 ppi. P3’s wide color gamut is backed by support for up to 1.07 billion colors. The display supports a high refresh rate of 120 Hz and a 300 Hz sampling rate to detect your touches. The screen is specially designed to protect the user’s eyes.

The displayed content will look great, thanks to the smoothness of the screen. As we have already mentioned, the flexible hinge is similar to that of the competing Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G folding model, which has become very popular among users. The Huawei P50 Pocket is also strikingly similar to it and uses a similar bending technique.

However, it differs in the closed state. Below the module with cameras, which we will talk about later, there is a secondary display. It is used to display basic information such as time, notifications, scheduled calendar events, music control, weather display and other intelligent functions. The system became Android with the extension EMUI 12. Google services in the base you will not find.

The Snapdragon 888 processor from the American giant Qualcomm takes care of the performance. This is a 4G edition, so 5G connectivity cannot be expected. There is 8 to 12 GB of RAM and 256 to 512 GB of internal storage. The white color variant will be characterized by lower memory equipment and the premium gold variant by a higher one.

Cameras with interesting features

Let’s move on to the equipment of the cameras. The Huawei P50 Pocket boasts the presence of a 40 MP TrueChroma sensor. The unusual design of the smartphone allows you to take “selfie” pictures with this camera, which will clearly stand out. You can see a preview of the photo on the small display on the back of the device.
