Microsoft has announced its second foldable smartphone. The first generation that was announced last year under the name Microsoft Surface Duo has never appeared in the Netherlands. Unlike the previous model, this version is equipped with high-end specifications. This is reflected in the presence of the Snapdragon 888 chipset, which is of course also equipped with 5G support.

The phone offers a triple camera with a 12MP main lens, 16MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. There is no secondary screen with the Microsoft Surface Duo 2; only when opened you have access to an 8.3 inch display. It offers a 90Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint scanner is placed in the power button and a special function is the Glance Bar. This is a continuous screen on the side, where you can see, for example, how many messages you have, or which other notifications there are.

Microsoft’s new smartphone should also work with a special ‘pen’ that can be attached to the back of the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 by means of a magnet. Microsoft will release the new device with Android 11. The device should be optimized for gaming from different games.

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 will be available in the United States on October 21. The price starts at $1500. Nothing is known about a coming to Europe and therefore the Netherlands. You can get a good impression of the new phone in the video below.
