Squeaky-colored with a rotary dial, googly eyes and a cord to pull behind you: the new edition of the famous children’s phone also has Bluetooth and an image video based on Apple.
“Your first ‘mobile phone’ is now a real mobile phone,” writes Fisher Price in the description of the latest retro hit. The babbling phone “Ring-Ring” has been dragging toddlers behind them for decades and turning the colorful dial with little fingers. In addition, the famous ring-ring sound can be heard, which is still generated with a real bell. The company has now relaunched baby toys as a mobile phone accessory to mark its 60th anniversary. The nostalgic toy continues to enjoy great popularity with (grand) parents to introduce the one to two year old offspring to the world of the rotary telephone. The new edition as a mobile phone has no screen and, according to the manufacturer, is “so intelligent that it does not contain any apps”. The intuitive, chunky design is equipped with a super advanced rotary dial. “Your childhood calls, now you can actually answer,” writes Fisher Price. To do this, you can pair the chatter phone with your own smartphone via Bluetooth. Otherwise it has a headphone and a micro USB port. In addition, it offers original googly eyes and four wheels to pull behind. The battery should last for nine hours.
However, adults have to do without one feature: the traditionally too short cord that leads to the entire phone being picked up with the handset. This mostly hated property is intended to protect against strangulation and has earned the babble phone hundreds of negative reviews on all platforms worldwide.
Fisher Price has released an image video for the special edition that highlights the benefits of the product. The makers use the optics of Apple product videos, which gives the chatterbox a new perspective. It is not known at the moment whether the chatterbox “Ring-Ring” Special Edition will be allowed to continue its triumphal march outside of the USA.
