‘First version of Apple Car fully autonomous: no driver required’
Apple’s ambitious car project is taking shape. After rumors about the manufacturers, we now know more about how this first Apple Car should work.
Read on after the ad.
‘Apple Car is completely autonomous’
The news comes from CNBC, which relies on anonymous sources. They argue that the first version of the Apple Car would already be fully autonomous: ‘the electric car works completely without a driver and is equipped with the most modern technology.’
That is a big difference from the rumors of six months ago. At the time, Apple would still plan to design only the software for the car with its Project Titan, now the project seems to have been scaled up to a fully self-driving car.
The news comes at a striking time. Apple is said to be on the verge of closing a nearly $ 4 billion deal with Hyundai’s sister company Kia Motors. They would take over the production of the car in the United States.
Tim Cook’s company would have chosen Kia, because the car brand is open to giving Apple full control over both the software and the car itself.
Apple automotive software and hardware
Instead of just the software, Apple thus has the freedom to design a complete car. It is no coincidence that it was announced this week that a former Porsche CEO now works at Apple.
With all the rumors from reliable sources, it is almost impossible that Apple is speeding up its car project. As it looks now, the company would like to produce its first Apple Car in 2024, after which they will be on sale in 2025. So you can count on us to hear a lot more about this great project in the coming weeks, months and years.
