Firefox updates to fix crashes with video playback and history

Mozilla offers Firefox 108.0.2 for download to fix several repeated crashes occurring with video playback and browsing history management.

According to Mozilla, Firefox crashes with video playback affect users with a Mac running macOS Sierra (macOS 10.12), macOS High Sierra (macOS 10.13), and macOS Mojave (10.14). Mozilla intended to fix this bug later with a future “notable” update (such as Firefox 109), but the numerous user reports prompted it to act quickly and release a fix update.

As for the crash with browsing history, it seems to be due to old code still present in the browser. It was a problem and the Mozilla teams therefore had to do what was necessary to restore normal use when consulting the browsing history.

To update the browser, go to the “About Firefox” section. A button to download version 108.0.2 will appear on the screen. A simple press on it will start the download. Firefox will then offer to be relaunched to apply the patches. Otherwise, you can download the browser from Mozilla’s website and perform a standard installation.
