Final Fantasy VII will enrich the mobile battle royale -apkrig
During the last State of Play presentation, which we broadcast live with Czech commentary last Thursday, Sony representatives unveiled an improved version of the Final Fantasy VII remake for PlayStation 5. Players can look forward to playing in 4K or 60 frames per second on June 10, waiting for them also photo mode, new difficulty, faster loading times and also the use of premium features of the DualSense driver. However, this is far from the only announcement of the Final Fantasy VII parties, for which the developers from Square Enix are preparing more. Namely, these are two introduced mobile spin-offs for iOS and Android, which will be released gradually this year and next year.
Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is the first to arrive, with the story preceded by the main game and offering a whole new perspective on famous places. This is a battle royal action in which players take on the role of a Soldier who fights with others in accordance with the well-known rules of the genre. Although it’s a prequel, so we could learn more about the main plot, Final Fantasy VII creative director Tecuja Nomura said in an interview with Famitsa that there won’t be much going on in the game. Even from the trailer, it seems that only the event itself is in the foreground, but it is complemented by elements typical of the Final Fantasy saga. Whether we’re talking about a variety of effects, spells or enemies, the aesthetics of the series speaks a lot into the game and in combination with the overall popularity of Final Fantasy, The First Soldier might not turn out badly. However, the developers promise to reveal more information later, with the game coming out later this year.
The second mobile game is Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, which the press release describes as part of the official 1997 Final Fantasy VII Compilation. The game will be divided into individual chapters, which should remind fans of the iconic moments of the seventh part of Final Fantasy and offer sufficient variety in the performance of individual missions and tasks. Even in this case, the emphasis is on combat, which, unlike the battle royale, is by no means experimental. Ever Crisis is based on the Active Time Battle system and the original FF VII is also reminiscent of visual processing. The game is scheduled for 2022, and even in this case, the developers have not been very shared yet.
If we were to go back to PlayStation 5, in addition to the next-gen version of the first part of the remake, the developers also talked about continuing. We know that the second part is in development since last year, as well as Tecuji Nomura’s wish, to release the game as soon as possible. Only now, however, do we officially learn that the mentioned designer is moving away from his own work and from his position he will only supervise where the individual mentioned games will move during their preparations. His place in the second part of the remake will therefore be taken over by Nomura’s closest colleague Naoki Hamaguchi, who already served as the second creative director in the case of the first part of the remake. Interestingly, however, Hamaguchi spoke openly about the inspiration he had drawn from Guerrilla Games developers in recent years, specifically Horizon: Zero Dawn, and suggested that the continuation of the remake could be very reminiscent of Aloy’s adventures. It has also been revealed that only the second part of the remake will fully unlock the potential of the PlayStation 5 and offer maximum use of the haptic response or DualSens adaptive triggers and captivate the player with full three-dimensional audio.
