FIFA 22: Career Mode – All New

The career mode in FIFA 22 is still part of the series and one of the most popular modes for many fans. In the following we will tell you which innovations are waiting for you in your coaching and playing career.

The new club creation

In FIFA 22 you now have the opportunity to create your own team. You not only choose the name and nickname of your team, but also which league you want to compete in.

For this you have to replace a club from the selected league, as the number of league teams remains the same. The team you are replacing will be moved to the rest of the world teams. All leagues in the game are available to you for this.

In addition, you determine a rival club from your league. The matches against your rivals will be highlighted during the broadcasts and provided with additional news and stories.

Customization of coat of arms, jersey & stadium

You can customize your home and away jerseys, your club crest and the home stadium. You can also change your jerseys, coat of arms and your base stadium at the beginning of each new season. In addition to all the stadiums in the game, you can also create your own football temple.

Decide on one of the generic basic stages and put your own stamp on it. Choose the basic color and the seat color and also take care of the lawn pattern or the shape of the goal net.

You can also influence the atmosphere of the stadium: Gate music, chants and walkout hymns give your venue that certain flair and give it your desired identity.

Team building

Of course, your new team also needs players, that’s why there is Team building assistant. Here you can fill your team with the first players. When creating the new players, you have control over the star value and the average age of the team. The nationalities of the generated players in your team are based on the country mix of the league you have selected.

Once you’ve set up your club, you can also set your starting budget. Your transfer budget goes up to a maximum of 1 billion in your chosen currency. With this budget you can then sign new players in order to strengthen important positions right from the start. So enough budget to secure the best talent in career mode.

Depending on which player your team has, you should of course adjust the formation for your squad.

Board priorities

You can also edit the priorities of your association’s board of directors. These priorities determine the goals that you have to meet in the individual categories. The international and regional priorities are influenced by your team ranking.

The process in the creation of a club includes different board priority presets. They help you determine the right club philosophy.

Revised transfers

The transfers have been slightly revised: There are new transfer negotiation video sequences. In addition, you now have the option to scout players directly from the transfer center or to end their scouting.

Your own playing career

Joker role

In FIFA 22 you can now also come into play from the bench in your playing career. This should make you feel more like a young talent who is paving its own way into the starting XI.

As soon as you’ve made the jump to the bench, you always have the chance to get into the game. The coach just has to choose to replace you.

Coach rating

The coach rating is a system that calculates how much the coach relies on you as part of the team. You begin your career as a bank player. The trainer gives you the first short assignments where you have to convince him of your abilities. If you do his job, you’ll get more and more playing time to eventually make it into the starting XI.

If you repeatedly fail at your given tasks, you are of course also threatened with the end of the club. Then you urgently need to achieve good performance in training in order to get another chance. The quality of the squad determines the conditions for a place in the starting XI or a place on the bench.

If you have performed well overall over the course of your career at the club, you can also be appointed to the national team. The trainer rating system also applies there.

Your game tasks

The game tasks are generated based on several factors:

• Your playing position: It can of course happen that your favorite position is not included in the formation of your team. In this case, the trainer looks at your qualities in other areas to determine your optimal position.
• The quality of your team compared to your opponent: In the preparation for the season it starts off manageably, but depending on the quality of the opponents you can also get tasks with a higher level of difficulty.
• The formation of your team compared to your opponent: If you as a striker are facing a strong defense with a 5-4-1 formation, scoring goals may be more difficult for you than against another line-up. The game wants to take this into account. For example, if you are the only striker and you do not have a strike partner, you will not receive any tasks in which you should provide a template, for example.

This is to ensure that you get different tasks every time you step on the lawn.

Player development of your created player

The FIFA 22 Player Career includes a revamped player development system. In the course of your career, it’s about gaining experience points (XP) and upgrading your player’s level. The following steps only apply to created players.

Level up & earn XP

Earn XP to level up your athletes and unlock new skill points for each level. There are several ways to earn XP:

• Game bonuses: At the end of every game played, you will receive EP. The EP is mainly based on the player rating at the end of a game, but you can earn additional XP with different game actions such as goals etc.
• Training: You can take part in 3 training units per week. There are two additional XP bonuses that you can earn in training:
  • Game Premiere Bonus: To encourage you to try all of the training exercises, you will receive an XP bonus the first time you play an exercise.
  • Game bonus: Every time you play an exercise instead of simulating it, you get bonus XP.
• Optimized game tasks: You will receive bonus XP for completing the optimized task of your choice.

Once you’ve earned XP, you’ll have to choose. Every time you level up, you unlock additional skill points that you can then spend.

Skill tree

This year you have more freedom within the skill tree. In the new approach, your attributes of your Pro develop exactly how you would like them. The attribute increases should be clearer and lead to a noticeable improvement in gameplay.

If you look at the Skill Trees, you’ll also see Archetype Nodes that provide the biggest attribute boosts. You can use them to further customize your play style.

The new benefit system

You can unlock advantages when leveling up and use three of them and take them with you into your games. In addition to your values, advantages provide an additional performance boost. They are triggered automatically as soon as you meet certain conditions.

A benefit activation icon is displayed above the head of your kicker, so keep your eyes peeled. When the benefit icon is displayed, the effects are active. With some advantages you can even strengthen your fellow players.

Cabin atmosphere

At the end of every game in a player’s career, there are now new video sequences from the dressing room. They reflect the performance of your team and your player, regardless of whether it is a triumphant title win or a disastrous derby defeat.
