But this causes compatibility issues with outdated smartphone models. On October 24, WhatsApp was no longer able to work on iPhones running iOS 10 and 11 (2018). As of December 31, 2022, you will need at least iOS 12.1 to continue using messaging. iPhone 5 and 5 C owners say goodbye to WhatsApp!
But you won’t be the only ones, because on the Android side the device must have at least Android 4.2 (Jellybean): a system that was created more than 10 years ago anyway.
A long list
If iPhone loses only two models, in Android the list of models that are no longer eligible is rather long. As proof, six models Huawei, the Ascend D, D1, D2, G740, Mate and P1. At the house of LG, there are no less than 20 models (LG Enact, LG Lucid 2, LG Optimus 4X HD, LG Optimus F3, etc.). For Samsung, 7 Galaxy models are affected.
