Farewell to PlayStation exclusivity: You can play these 14 PS4/PS5 games on the PC
Sony no longer exclusively produces games for the PlayStation. In the coming years, smartphones and PCs will also increasingly come into focus. But this is not a new trend. The following 14 games were previously only available on PlayStation, but are now also playable on PC.
Bye bye, PlayStation: Sony will also be focusing on the PC in the future
Thanks to an annual report, we know that the company wants to offer its first-party games for other platforms in the future.
Above all, the PC will soon play a bigger role. In 2025, 30 percent of the published first-party games should also appear for gaming computers.
But which PlayStation games that were once exclusive to the Sony console can you already play on your PC? We’ll tell you!
Released on Steam on January 14, 2022
Kratos’ adventure premiered on PlayStation 4 in 2018, but it can since early 2022 finally be made up for by PC players.
You can also look forward to some new features: improved graphics, Ultra widescreen support, Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR support. 97 percent of Steam players rate the PC port positively (source: Steam).
Released on Steam on May 18, 2022
A few months after God of War, Days Gone also launched on the PC. Zombie open world game appeared originally for the PS4 in mid-2019.
Here, too, Sony has not skimped on the PC port and offers similar improvements as in God of War: prettier graphics, ultra-widescreen support, Nvidia DLSS and a higher frame rate.
Released on Steam on August 7, 2020
Horizon Zero Dawn belonged to the Spring 2017 one of the visually most impressive games for the PlayStation 4. But even 3.5 years later, the PC port caused wide eyes again.
No wonder, after all, Sony didn’t miss this opportunity to polish and visually improve the PlayStation hit. PC players can look forward to the same improvements as the two previous games.
Released on Steam on December 7, 2015
The top-down co-op shooter Helldivers may not count among Sony’s blockbuster games, but the action-packed shooter also made an appearance first in March 2015 for PS3, PS4 and PlayStation Vita.
At the end of 2015, the PC version was available to all players on Steam. Back then, Sony took much less time with the port. One of the reasons for this is that Helldivers wasn’t exactly a system seller that enticed en masse players to buy a PlayStation.
Released June 24, 2019 on the Epic Games Store, June 18, 2020 on Steam
In 2010, Heavy Rain wowed all PS3 players with its incredible graphics. Back then, hardly anyone would have believed that a game could look so beautiful on the Sony console.
Quantic Dream’s interactive thriller has been available on PC for almost three years.
Released July 22, 2019 for the Epic Games Store, June 18, 2020 on Steam
And also the follow-up work of the studio found its way to the PC. While Beyond: Two Souls wasn’t as well received by critics as Heavy Rain had been a few years earlier, it still told an engaging – if rather far-fetched – story.
Released December 12, 2019 on the Epic Games Store, June 18, 2020 on Steam
The shortest PlayStation-exclusive period among Quantic Dream games Detroit: Become Human could claim. The interactive drama was released for the PlayStation 4 in spring 2018 and landed on the PC a year and a half later.
Released on PC on October 19, 2022
The bundle of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was finally released for the PC in autumn 2022. The original games were released for the PlayStation 4 in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Bitter pill for PC gamers: The first three games don’t seem to make their way to PC – they remain PlayStation exclusive.
After all: The hardware requirements for the Uncharted Collection are surprisingly low – the collection is also verified for the Steam Deck.
Released August 12, 2022 for PC, Miles Morales later in Fall 2022
Both the original Spider-Man and Miles Morales have been remastered for PC. New functions: Even smarter graphics, support for Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, ray tracing effects, ultrawide screen support – Sony hasn’t been stingy with that.
Released March 28, 2023 for PC
On September 2nd, 2022 the remake of the first The Last of Us was released for the PS5. But not only owners of the Sony console are happy about that. At the end of the official announcement trailer there was also the lettering “In Development for PC”, so “For the PC in development” to see.
The PC port is now also available, but seems to be an absolute disaster from a technical point of view.
Released February 15, 2023 for PC
Sony has also added some new features to the PC version of Returnal: ultrawide screen support, Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, ray tracing. However, the hardware requirements are quite tight, as the colleagues from spieletipps report.
Released for PC on October 27, 2022
Almost two years after the release on PS4 and PS5, Sackboy: A Big Adventure was also released for the PC in autumn 2022. The slick platformer now has DLSS support, supports frame rates up to 120 FPS and supports extra wide aspect ratio screens.
Some successful PlayStation exclusive games have already made their way to PC. But by no means all. Which ones do you think are still missing? Which Sony games would you like to catch up on on your computer because you don’t own a PS3, PS4 or PS5? Tell us in the comments!
