Fans break the game and don’t want to stop

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom often feels like it’s all cheats. But that’s not enough for the community: They want to finally break the game and are working on it like crazy.

Zelda players break Tears of the Kingdom and love it

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game made for cheating. Actually, Link’s abilities feel like cheats anyway – which was also intended by Nintendo and somehow makes the game fun. However, the ingenious sandbox principle is not enough for some fans. Instead, they use the many freedoms to find cracks in the gameplay and exploit them to their heart’s content. A new glitch now allows them to speeding through Hyrule like Aladdin on the magic carpet – and they are in the process of cultivating this glitch for speedruns.

With apple and board over Hyrule:

In an interview with Zelda speedrunners, Polygon reports that no glitch has yet been found that allows you to skip the starting area (source: polygon). As a result, it seems Tears of the Kingdom being pretty hard to break despite its sandbox gameplay. That doesn’t mean it won’t try – as you can see above.

In fact, a whole community of players is working on eliciting helpful glitches from the game in order to then defeat Tears of the Kingdom in crazy speedruns. The speed runners test different ones Exploits and glitches from the predecessor Breath of the Wild and then try to use the exploits in TotK – they try to repeat the exploit in different situations to figure out when and how exactly to perform it.

Anyway, they managed to break the game with the apple and board glitch. Now all that remains is to figure out how best to use the exploit. Of course, the question remains whether Nintendo will fix the glitch in the meantime.
