Facebook spends $ 1 billion on content creators
Facebook wants to push creators to offer content and plans to spend more than a billion dollars in different programs. They will be intended to compensate creators, until the end of 2022.
“We want to create the best platforms so that millions of creators can earn a living”, has explained Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a post on his account. “Investing in creators is nothing new for us, but I am delighted to extend this work over time”, he added.
Facebook’s billion dollars will be awarded to creators who use Facebook products in different ways. On Facebook for example, creators can get a cash bonus by running ads on their videos or hit certain tip thresholds during live videos. On Instagram, creators can get paid by activating ads on their IGTV videos, receiving tips during live videos, or creating popular videos on the Reels section.
Facebook’s financial program is available to creators by invitation only (at least for now). New options for making money will be announced later. Facebook says it will expand availability to more creators later this year, launching a dedicated bounty spot within the Instagram app this summer and in the Facebook app this fall.
