Facebook changes name to ‘Meta’: this is going to change

Facebook has changed the name of the parent company to Meta. This has been announced by Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook.

Now the name Facebook was used for both the social network and the parent company in both cases, but that is going to change. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, has announced this change. Many more companies and services now fall under the name Facebook; think of WhatsApp and Instagram, for example.

The name change to Meta should make it clear that the company is more than just a social network. Facebook is also under enormous fire due to various events. These are large publications that make clear what goes wrong (behind the scenes) at Facebook.

According to Zuckerberg, we are at the beginning of a new chapter in the Internet age and the next chapter of the company. The name ‘Meta’ can be translated as ‘go further’, according to Zuckerberg. The CEO emphasizes that in the future we will be able to experience in 3D what we now see in 2D on a computer screen. All this through augmented reality and virtual reality.
