‘Every morning I secretly have an hour to myself at work’

Just read undisturbed and finally some time for yourself. Masja faithfully keeps an hour of me-time every morning in the pumping room at her office.

Masha (33): “Every day, around eleven o’clock, I leave with my pumping device, bottles and reading book to the expressing room specially equipped for me, at the back of our office in the town hall. It is a nice, light space, hidden behind the warehouse. I’m never interrupted. I’ve been there with my oldest two and now with baby Julian I’m using it for the third time.

cheat time

The only thing is, I stopped breastfeeding weeks ago. Julian didn’t like it at all. He wasn’t breastfed enough and is doing better on formula for hungry babies. Yet I still faithfully ‘pump’ for an hour every morning. It’s my cheat time. The time of the day when I can read, my great hobby. At home I don’t get around to that with three children under five.

None of my colleagues who miss me. My work is organized in such a way that I can easily miss an hour a day. I pumped up to nine months with my oldest two. So I can happily skip school for a few more months.”
