Elden Ring: Corhyn and Gold Mask

Brother Corhyn is an NPC in Elden Ring who teaches you invocations in Round Table Keep. But at a certain point he’s gone and you have to find him to complete his quest. This is related to the golden mask and gives you one of the healing runes at the end. In our walkthrough and video we guide you through all the steps of Corhyn’s Quest.

Corhyn leaves Round Table Hold

After reaching the Altus Plateau, either via the Ruined abyss or the great procession of Dectus, Corhyn tells you about his plan to leave the Round Table. He wants to follow the Golden Mask, a scholar exploring the Golden Order.

After reloading the festivals, he repeats his plan and gives you the last chance to learn invocations from him. After reloading the keep, Corhyn will be gone. If you have prayer books or want to learn invocations, you can now switch to the turtle pope Miriel in the Church of the Vows in Liurnia.

Find Corhyn on the Altus Plateau

You can meet Corhyn again north of the place of mercy “Crossroads of the Altus High Road” by the wayside. Talk to him and ask him about the Golden Mask, where you learn that he hasn’t been able to find it yet.

Corhyn is available to you again as usual as a teacher for invocations and now also has the two new invocations “Great Healing” and “Lightning Fortification” on offer.

Find golden mask

Now follow the path north-east. This will take you to the southern part of the collapsed bridge that leads to the forest below. You can use the portal on the bridge to quickly teleport to the northern part of the bridge. Upon arrival, turn 180 degrees and walk to the end of the bridge, where you will meet Gold Mask. Talk to him and then return to Corhyn.

In dialogue with Corhyn, choose the Reveal Golden Mask location optionso that he goes to him. Then return to the northern part of the bridge where you will find Corhyn and Goldmask together. Talk to Corhyn again about Gold Mask here. You can then learn the new invocation “Discus of Light” from him.

Corhyn & Gold Mask in Leyndell

Next time you will meet both NPCs in Leyndell. You’re standing on the cliff just east of the Colosseum in the south of the city, facing the Earth Tree (See map below). Talk to Corhyn about the Golden Mask, who seems stuck in his research.

In order for the quest to continue, you must first Learn the invocation “Law of Regression”.. In order to unlock these, you must in turn find the prayer book “Principles of the Golden Order”. It’s in the small hanging throne under the ceiling of the Earth Tree Sanctuary.

Give the prayer book to Corhyn, then buy the incantation Law of Regression from him for 10,000 runes. This requires a seal and a to execute Wisdom score of 37. If you are not skilled for wisdom, you have the following options:

• If you have enough Larva Tears to reskill, use two of them to increase your Wisdom with Rennala in Raya Lucaria’s Academy for this puzzle only.
• The various shimmerstone crowns (Head Armor) increases your Wisdom by 2-6 points.
• The Talismans Marika’s Scar Seal and Marika’s wound seal increase your wisdom by 3 or 5 points.
• Godrick’s Greater Rune increases your Wisdom by 5 points when equipped and activated.
• The Wisdom Knot Crystal Tear increases your wisdom by 10 points for 3 minutes after using it in the wondrous potion.
• Greatsword of Transplantation’s Weapon Talent temporarily increases your Wisdom by 5 points.

Solve puzzles at Radagon’s statue

Once you’ve equipped the Law of Regression, go back to the Earth Tree Sanctuary. Leave it via the west exit and follow the stairs to the elevator that will take you down. Continue down the stairs and you’ll come across Radagon’s statue. Before that there is a note with the Message “Only regression reveals mysteries.”.

Stand on the hint symbol and execute the law of regression. If you did everything right, Radagon’s statue in front of you will turn into a statue of Marika. Now return to Goldmask and speak to him. Choose the Dialog option “Tell him Radagon is Marika.”. You will then receive the Entirety of Order emote.

Then talk to Corhyn, where you can now buy the new incantation “Eternal Shield”. Exhaust all further dialogues with him for the quest to continue.

Corhyn & Gold Mask at Giant’s Peak

Once you get to the top of the ruins, you can meet Corhyn and Goldmask again on the bridge south of the Stargazer Ruins. Talk to Corhyn here and listen to all the dialogue about the gold mask again.

If you still have the “Potion of Oblivion” from Rya’s quest in your inventory, you will be given the option to give the potion to Corhyn. However, he will not accept it and it remains in your inventory. Trying to give him the potion changes Corhyn’s location at the end of the questbut otherwise has no effect on the rewards or anything like that.

Obtained Healing Rune of Perfect Order

After defeating Maliketh in the ruined Farum Azula, you will automatically follow Leyndell, Aschene capital. After arrival, always walk south between the Earth Tree Sanctuary and the Colosseum on the ground. After crossing the bridge, run left up the cliff. This is how you get to the Corpse of the Golden Mask past leaning against the rock face.

From the corpse of Gold Mask you can get the Healing Rune of Perfect Order take what you need for one of the endings in Elden Ring. Then reload the area or restart to get Goldmask’s armor as well.

Location of the Radiant Gold Mask: To get the headpiece from the Gold Mask set, you’ll have to look elsewhere. You can loot it from a corpse lying at the end of the collapsed piece of bridge north on the Altus Plateau (not far south of Goldmask’s original location). You can easily access the bridge piece from the Place of Grace “Sin Road – Side Path”.

Depending on whether or not you previously offered Corhyn the Oblivion Potion, you will find it in one of the following two locations:

• Potion of Oblivion Offered: Corhyn is still sitting on the bridge south of the Stargazer Ruins at Giant’s Peak (see map above).
• Potion of Oblivion not offered: Corhyn is located near the giant spiraling spear stuck centrally in the ash capital of Leyndell.

Speak to Corhyn one last time, then reload the area and the game. You can now at his location Corhyn’s sound bead, Corhyn’s robe and loot a flail. Give the sound bead to the twin maiden shells in Round Table Keep to continue accessing his invocations.
