Earthquake in Haiti: Apple announces to donate
Tim Cook announces on Twitter that Apple will make a donation to help relief efforts in Haiti following the major earthquake that took place there. It was a magnitude 7.2 earthquake that shook the island. A state of emergency has been declared for one month in the four departments affected by the disaster.
“We are wholeheartedly with all those in Haiti who are once again facing the consequences of a devastating earthquake. Apple will donate to help relief and recovery efforts in affected communities ”, tweeted Tim Cook.

According to the latest official figures, the earthquake in Haiti left at least 724 dead and more than 2,800 injured. A previous report reported at least 304 dead. The number is therefore likely to increase further over the hours and days after the various researches and discoveries.
The earthquake took place at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday (2:30 p.m. in France) 12 km from the city of Saint-Louis-du-Sud and 160 km southwest of the capital, Port-au-Prince. Staff and medicines were sent by the Ministry of Health to help the victims.
