E-car drivers could get an all-round carefree package from the state
If the Ministry of Transport has its way, it will no longer just be wall boxes for electric cars that will be funded. Instead, there could soon be government support for a full scale small home power plant. However, the plans are not yet finalized.

A large proportion of the charging processes for e-cars currently take place at home. It is not clear whether a private wall box is used or the Stromer is simply plugged into the socket. For Transport Minister Volker Wissing, on the other hand, it is clear that this will continue in the future much should be charged at home. In his house, the idea of expanding the charging network in Germany is therefore not limited to public charging stations.
Rather, households should be supported in the setting up own charging facilities, also beyond the subsidy for the purchase and installation of a wall box. This emerges from an internal draft of the master plan for charging infrastructure II, which is being developed by the Federal Ministry of Transport.
Accordingly, the current funding programs should be reviewed, also with regard to their efficiency (source: electric). What such a package would look like in concrete terms and whether it will actually come is currently completely open. In the Ministry of Transport itself, work is underway, the departmental coordination is still pending, as is a hearing of the associations. Last but not least, the Federal Ministry of Economics should also have something to say. It so there is still a lot that can be done.

However, Wissing has already explained his intention behind the plan: “We could promote photovoltaic systems in private homes and a charger for electric cars. The Citizens could use self-generated electricity free of charge for their own consumption and their own electric car.” (Source: dpa via Next Mobility).
Especially in connection with the expected regulations for energy-efficient construction and renovation, which the federal government announced on the same day, this step should do well for consumers.
