Done. The Prague metro reports a complete mobile connection

The Rajská zahrada and Černý Most stations were the last where the technicians connected the remaining components, and the Prague metro is now there officially completely covered by the mobile signal on all lines. From 22 December 2021, passengers can call, send SMS messages or date in LTE quality thanks to the cooperation of DPP, a consortium of operators (O2 Czech Republic, T-Mobile Czech Republic, Vodafone Czech Republic) and CETIN.

Work to cover the Prague metro network began in 2015 and originally to last until the end of 2022. Despite the effects of the covid-19 pandemic, the coverage of the Prague metro with the high-speed mobile signal LTE was accelerated by one year. The only exception is the Jiřího z Poděbrad metro station, where DPP is building lifts and revitalizing it and LTE and 5G connections there will be after reconstruction.

The speed of the LTE subway tunnel depended on its length. The shortest section between the Museum and the Main Railway Station measures 425 meters, while the longest with a length of 2,748 meters connects Nádraží Holešovice and Kobylisy. Up to 70 technicians took part in the installations in the transport section. It took at least 50 hours to build an LTE network in one station, the coverage of the tunnel between the two stations in both directions took about 2 months. We worked exclusively on the night when the subway is not running.

In which sections of the connection will you use the most?
