The boom in balcony power plants is reaching more and more discounters. Not only Lidl sells a mini solar system, but soon also the competitor Aldi. There, however, sales will start much later. The discounter has now published initial information.

Aldi includes balcony power plant in the program

After Lidl had already sold a balcony power plant for little money, it was foreseeable that Aldi would follow suit. So now attention is drawn to an offer, but only that from June 1, 2023 at Aldi Nord.

On the website of Aldi Nord (look at Aldi Nord) the balcony power plant is already shown. It is similar to Lidl for a smaller facility, which consists of two solar panels. The modules have an output of 175 watts each. So together we get 350 watts. This means that the maximum 600 watts permitted in Germany are not exhausted. On the other hand, the solar modules are also quite small at 116 x 77 cm and should fit on any balcony.

In contrast to Lidl, Aldi has opted for a Schuko plug connection. This allows you to plug the balcony power plant directly into the socket. A five meter cable is included. The mounting material for the balcony is also included. The Inverter is from NEP, delivers up to 600 watts and supports WLAN. You can evaluate the yield with the NEPViewer app. Aldi has not yet named a price.

This is what you need to know about balcony power plants:

Is such a balcony power plant from Aldi worth it?

We will only find out when Aldi has published the price. At first glance, it is a very similar facility to Lidl. With a maximum of 350 watts, there is relatively little power. The bracket is included and the system is suitable for rather small balconies. If you have space, you should resort to a larger facility, which generates significantly more energy. There are already for 500 euros. In this article, I will tell you how much money you save with it.
