Did you have an unwanted marketing call? Let us know about it
The Regulatory Office registers the growing seriousness of unsolicited communication with the citizens of the Slovak Republic. If someone has offered you goods or services by telephone or email without your prior consent, you can report this fact.
Phone calls or emails may include, for example, offers of cheaper gas or electricity consumption, telecommunications services, changes in health insurance, and the like. You can direct your experience directly to the regulatory authority via this email: prieskum@teleoff.gov.sk. You should provide as much detail as possible in the report, and in particular the telephone number from which they called you.
Marketing calls don’t just have to be illegal
Marketing calls can also be legal. It may have happened that you have given their consent sometime in the past, or that you did not even realize that the consent had been given. This could happen, for example, when concluding contracts during various marketing campaigns and the like. If such messages bother you, you can revoke your consent at any time.
The Electronic Communications Act states:
“For the purposes of direct marketing, calls or the use of automated calling and communication systems without human intervention, facsimile, e-mail, including short messages, to a subscriber or user shall be permitted only with his prior consent, which shall be demonstrable. The consent granted can be revoked at any time. The obligation of prior consent shall apply to subscribers and users who are natural persons. “
Yesterday, the O2 operator also started the fight against unsolicited marketing calls and launched the Nevolajtemi.sk platform.
The portal works very simply. When visiting, the user enters the phone number they want to verify. If the number is in the database, an overview with information from other users will be displayed. If the number has not yet been registered, it can add the necessary information to it.
