A new smartphone has been announced by Huawei. It is the Huawei P50 Pocket, a phone that has already appeared in the rumor mill. The device has a different design than the previous foldable Mate X and is the first Huawei with this design. The phone has a special mechanism in which there is no visible opening at the hinge when the device is closed. In addition, Huawei applies a special 3D glass design.

The Huawei P50 Pocket will have an OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a size of 6.9 inches. It delivers a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels and has a 21:9 aspect ratio. There is a punch-hole opening for the selfie camera, which brings a resolution of about 11 megapixels. A triple camera has been placed on the front of the P50 Pocket. It offers a 40 megapixel main lens, a 13 megapixel wide-angle lens and a 32 megapixel ultra-spectrum lens for richer colors.

The camera module on the front also includes an extra 1.0 inch screen. This can give you the date, just like an overview of notifications and also has its own widgets. These widgets can consist of, for example, a QR code, a music player, map or something else. For example, you can start navigation on the big screen and continue on the small screen.

On board the Huawei P50 Pocket is a Snapdragon 888 4G chipset (no 5G due to trade restrictions ed.), 8/12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage. The smartphone is powered by HarmonyOS and there is a 4000 mAh with 40W charging. There is a choice of colors black and white, where you can temporarily choose from a limited color; gold. The price starts converted at 1250 euros. For now, nothing is known about an international release, only for China.
