Representatives of Arkane Studios have embarked on a detailed description of the features of the multiplayer component, which lies in the possible invasion into the game of any player controlling the main character Colt. If the player decides to take on the role of assassin Julianna, he may upset Colt’s life and his attempt to break free from the murderous time loop and Blackreef Island.

The basic premise of Deathloop is probably already well known. Colt wakes up in an unfamiliar environment and soon discovers that each death leads to a restart of the time loop in which he is stuck. In the course of further cycles, he is to learn that the way out – from the loop and from the island – can lead through the removal of the eight goals represented by the so-called Visionaries. The task is quite challenging, given that Colt has to do it in a single day, but even that is not enough for developers. Another important element will be the aforementioned assassin Julianna, who, for a hitherto unclear reason, needs the time paradox to be preserved and tries to eliminate Colt herself every day. This can be done either by the action of artificial intelligence, or by the input of a living person who decides to play Deathloop with a view the other party and make life uncomfortable for any of the players.

First of all, the invasion mode is not a mandatory element, and if someone breaks into your game, you get the opportunity to simply leave the island and start the game without a live player. Whether it will be possible to directly prevent the connection of opponents was not entirely clear from the presentation, but the important thing is that the people from Arkane do not want to force anyone. On the other hand, the individual characteristics of the invasion sound quite tempting and could trigger an interesting tactical war on Blackreef between two people who are fully aware of the time prison and want to use it to their advantage. How? For example, a detailed knowledge of the map and the movement of NPCs – if a player in the role of Julianna knows that an NPC is walking through the street at the moment, but it is not there, it is clear that Colt has removed the character and may be nearby.

The advantage of the whole regime is to be unpredictable moments and chaos, which can be caused by two living players in a cyclically functioning world.

In addition, the game for Julianna will be full of the need to tacticalize and think more about each step, because, unlike Colt, he has only one life. Although he chooses from the same set of weapons and equipment, Colt has a unique Ability ability that allows him to rise from the dead twice in a single day. The advantage of the whole regime is to be unpredictable moments and chaos, which can be caused by two living players in a cyclically functioning world. The motivation is to serve the vision of interesting prey – Colt can get better equipment, recharge his ability to Reprise, or collect a special currency that will allow him to keep some weapons for the next cycle. Julianna, on the other hand, gets cosmetic items and other equipment for killing Colt, which can be used in another invasion.

You do not have to have another player to enter the game Thread played, the mode is intended as another layer of entertainment and in principle should not greatly affect the course of the storyline. On the other hand, it is possible that by entering an alien game you will come across an experienced player, whom you can hardly match without knowledge of the map and the laws of Deathloop…
