Death: TV station changes the program

The art world is poorer by an icon: Jane Birkin is dead. Above all, the duet “Je t’aime… moi non plus” made the singer and actress famous. In honor of Birkin, ARTE is changing the program tomorrow and devoting an entire evening to her.

The duet that Jane Birkin recorded with Serge Gainsbourg in 1969 has become an anthem of sexual freedom. The moans of love in the cult song caused a real scandal at the time. Some radio stations, including the BBC, indexed the title for a while.

ARTE changes the TV program on the death of Jane Birkin

It starts at 9:45 p.m with the documentation “Jane Birkin – muse, sex symbol, icon.” This is followed immediately at 10:40 p.m. by “The Long Blonde with the Red Hair”. In the 1974 comedy film, Birkin plays the movie star “Jackie Logan.”

The themed evening ends at 12:15 a.m. with a concert recording. In honor of Serge Gainsbourg, with whom she had a relationship of more than ten years, Birkin gave a tribute concert in 1991 at the Casino de Paris.
