De Nederlandsche Bank releases ‘Check your banknote’ app
De Nederlandsche Bank has released a new application for Android and iOS, called Check je biljet. With this application you can check the authenticity of euro notes.
Check your ticket
De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) has released a new application. The application allows you to check euro notes for authenticity with the camera on your smartphone. In 2016, DNB already released the ‘Echt or Vals’ app, which has disappeared from the download shops for the mobile platforms. The new Check your ticket app should replace it and will also be updated regularly in the future. The application will be trained with counterfeit notes, the Nederlandsche Bank promises.
The operation of the ‘Check your ticket’ app is simple. You lay the banknote flat on the table and hold your smartphone above it. Then the app makes a scan and the authenticity is checked. You will also see the results of this in the app. In 2021, according to De Nederlandsche Bank, 26,100 counterfeit euro notes were found in the Netherlands. The chance is small that you will get a counterfeit banknote, but it is always good to check this extra. So the app can help with this.
You can download the Check your ticket app from the Google Play Store via the button below.
