How could it have gone so wrong for CD Projekt Red. A game that has been in development for so many years, delivering so badly. Well, the answer may be more shocking than you might think. Apparently they weren’t shy about a lie at CD Projekt Red when it comes to the development of Cyberpunk 2077.

According to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, there has been a lie about when the development of Cyberpunk actually started. The makers have led us to believe that it has been a process of almost 10 years. The first news about the game was released by CD Projekt Red in 2012. However, there was no start of development at all at the time. The makers would not have had time at all to focus on Cyberpunk in 2012, because then all the attention was focused on The Witcher 3.
The development of Cyberpunk 2077 only started in 2016. The demo that the company would have shown at E3 in 2018 would also have been a fake. The game was far from playable at the time. Once again developer CD Projekt Red is on the lookout with this news item. The question is whether the developer can still recover from all that bad news. A major update for Cyberpunk is in the works. Let’s hope for the best.
