The TV streaming service “waipu.tv” also offers a free “Free” package with which you can stream the television programs of the public broadcasters and a few other stations on your PC and smartphone. The big advantage: You are not tied to your home TV and you can follow the current live programs on the go or in the bedroom.

Of course, you have to make a few compromises with the free package from waipu.tv – HD quality, online recordings, the expanded “Waiputhek” and the private TV channels from ProSiebenSat.1 and the RTL Group cannot be seen here. If you just want to quickly zap between ARD, ZDF and other Internet and niche channels in the browser or with your smartphone, you can still do that with the free package. But where can you find this – it is not displayed between the offers of the streaming service?

You won’t find the so-called free package among the offers, but that’s not even necessary. If you want to use the free package from waipu.tv, all you need is an account with the TV streaming service. To do this, proceed as follows:

1. opens waipu.tv in a new tab of your browser.
2. Click on the top right “Login” button and on the new page “To register”.
3. Under “Create a waipu.tv account” now give yours E-mail address and a self-selected one password in and press the “Next” button.
4. Then you should confirmation mail received at the given address. Call it up and click on it “Confirm email address” button.
5. The waipu.tv page should open in a new tab and the message “You have successfully registered at waipu.tv” are displayed.
6. Below is the “Continue booking now” buttonbut you can easily do this to ignoreif you only want to use the Free package.
7. Now you can log in with your login data in the browser and in the smartphone app and use the free scope of waipu.tv.

waipu.tv free? Limited functionality

The TV streaming service waipu.tv offers a surprisingly large number of channels even in the free package, but the free package still has very clear limitations:

• only SD quality
• no recording function
• no restart & break
• fewer channels
• no pay tv channels

You also need one of the paid subscriptions if you also want to watch waipu.tv on the big TV with the Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung TV or Android TV.
