Here you can find out what the “Discovery +” subscriptions currently cost, what advantages and disadvantages they offer and what content you can expect from the streaming service.

“Discovery+” costs 2022: Current prices at a glance

“Discovery+” offers two different subscriptions, which you can choose to take out monthly or annually. With the annual subscription, you get 12 months of service for the price of 10 months.

The only difference between the two subscription options “Ad-supported” and “Ad-free” is – as the name suggests – the additional advertising.

If you can live with a few commercials before and between the on-demand content, you can opt for the cheaper subscription. If you don’t want to see any additional advertising between your programs – as you are used to from other streaming services – you have to use the more expensive, ad-free subscription.

Exceptions are the live streams of the various broadcasters. Of course, the advertising blocks will continue to be displayed here, even with the actually ad-free offer.

Discovery+ with Sky Q

Anyone who is a “Sky” customer and has a current “Sky Q” subscription can test the advertising-supported “Discovery+” subscription for 12 months free of charge. Discovery+ content

The content of “Discovery +” differs from conventional streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney +. Instead of focusing on fictional films and series, Discovery+ mainly shows documentaries, reality TV, reports and some sports events.

The exclusive “Discovery+ Originals” such as “GameStop – The Great Wall Street Quake”, “Queen of Meth”, “Prince Andrew and the Epstein Scandal” or “Love in the Jungle” can also be assigned to these genres for the most part.

In addition to the streaming content, you can also see some TV channels in the live stream with “Discovery+”. You can currently watch the following 6 channels with the “Discovery+” subscription (as of July 2022):
