Apple officially announces the brand new iPhone 13 series this week. In this comparison we compare all devices from the iPhone 13 series and hopefully help you get a better overview of the differences. In short, Apple releases a solid yet pricey new series, each with minor nuance differences.

Comparison: Apple iPhone 13

Apple again divides the brand new iPhone 13s into two main categories: standard and Pro. We’ll dive deeper into the differences, but first the similarities. And there are surprisingly many this year.

All new iPhones have the same in-house A15 Bionic SoC. The brand new processor is equipped with all new bells and whistles. The Pro and Pro Max do get one extra GPU core for extra computing power for gaming and other graphics applications. The selfie camera is also the same on all models. Apple is also finally getting rid of the meager 64GB storage space and provides each device with at least 128GB. The charging options also match.

Displays

As for the displays, the same iPhone 13 comparison is starting to take hold. While all displays have the same Super Retina OLED technology, the Pro and Pro Max with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 200 nits higher brightness run a bit loose.

You can also filter based on size. The iPhone 13 Mini has a small size (5.4-inch) which is ideal for some. The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro come in 6.1 inches. The flagship is gigantic at 6.7-inches.

Cameras

Also with regard to cameras, Apple makes it relatively easy for us for comparison, since every iPhone 13 has a similar setup. All new smartphones in the series have a 12MP wide lens and 12MP ultra-wide lens. The Pro and Pro Max also have a 12MP telephoto for 6x zoom, among other things. It must be said that those variants have an ultra-wide lens with a significantly smaller aperture. The resolution is the same, but the performance in low light conditions may differ slightly.

And for the selfies we are ready even faster. All iPhone 13s have the same 12MP selfie camera on the front.

Prices

No iPhone comparison is complete without looking at the prices and the iPhone 13 series asks for that extra. The iPhone 13’s prices are roughly the same as the iPhone 12’s. But that’s not all. The cameras, wattages, displays and secondary features remain the same.

We know that Apple pops a super-fast new processor into their device every year. But that doesn’t necessarily make a world of difference to the previous generation for most users. For hundreds of euros less, you simply have an iPhone 12 with many of the same functions.

If, on the other hand, you are looking for an even better display, the Pro and Pro Max are a good option. Also, the option for more storage space, a better processor or 2GB more RAM (unconfirmed) is decisive for a small group of users. That does not alter the fact that the iPhone 13 series still costs a lot, given the limited innovations that Apple implements.
