Comedy about Iceland’s participation builds anticipation for Eurovision Song Contest 2023

The ESC as a film: That’s what “The Story of Fire Saga” is about
As 2020 the Eurovision Song Contest had to fail for the first time in 64 years of ESC history, the over-the-top Netflix comedy starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams came at just the right time. In “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga” the ESC is being made fun of from an American point of view, although Ferrell himself has been a huge ESC fan since 1999 is and therefore planned for 20 years to produce a film about the biggest music event in the world. As part of the duo Fire Saga, the actor takes on one of the leading roles and tries his luck at the legendary music competition as Lars Ericksson together with Sigrid Ericksdottir (Rachel McAdams). In addition to well-known faces such as Bond actor Pierce Brosnan and singer Demi Lovato, the film convinces with great costumes, ESC-worthy performances and a dramatic storyline that you should not miss.

With a running time of just over two hours, “The Story of Fire Saga” is one of the longer romantic comedies, but convinces with a whole series of moments that make you laugh out loud and surprises with one or two appearances by well-known ESC winners* Inside. Basically, the film is everything you could wish for in preparation for the annual ESC. The Story of Fire Saga is still available to stream by subscription on Netflix.
