City asks public for help identifying strange figure

A curious figure has turned up in America. The city of Amarillo, Texas has asked the public for help identifying a strange animal-like figure. This one was spotted on security cameras outside the Amarillo Zoo last month. City of Amarillo’s official Facebook page has provided many conjectures, but no one knows for sure what it is. Exciting!

Okay, in many big cities there are strange characters walking around. However, this one takes the cake. “The Amarillo Zoo made a strange image outside the zoo in the dark and early morning hours of May 21. Is it a person with a strange hat who likes to walk at night? A chupacabra? Do you have any idea what this UAO-Unidentified Amarillo Object could be?” the city asked on its Facebook page on Wednesday.
The reactions quickly pour in. “It’s clearly Rocket the Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy,” noted one Facebook user, although Rocket the Raccoon is a fictional character and is extremely unlikely to have been brought to life.
What is it?
Other users noted that it resembles Johnny Depp or his character from the Pirate of the Caribbean franchise, Jack Sparrow. Many people on social media have also guessed that it resembles Sonic the Hedgehog, which makes us cynically wonder if this is some sort of connection to a movie or other marketing promotion featuring a strange figure. If it’s the latter, we’ve all fallen for it.
